It’s cold. It’s wet. It’s foggy. Everyone has leaves stuck to their boots. Not all Seattle residents (and tourists) are on board with this under appreciated fall weather, but at least there are still lots of fun events happening around the city this month. Besides, last month's outdoor harvests will entail lots more affordable bud, joints, and concentrates for #seattlestoners like ourselves!
Layer up, pack a bowl, and consider some of our favorite events happening in Seattle this November...
November 1-18 - HUMP! Film Festival @ On The Boards Theater
The brainchild of Seattle sex advice columnist (and podcaster) Dan Savage, the HUMP! Film Festival is a collection of short form user-submitted porn films that tend to be more comedic and/or shocking than they are erotic. Be open minded, get really stoned, and bring a few friends with you to see some crazy shit that you’re never gonna find online.
Friday, November 2 - Bruce Campell’s Last Fan Standing @ Benaroya Hall
B-horror legend Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame is hosting a game show for fans of superheroes, fantasy, horror, and sci-fi. Everyone attending will respond to questions using “audience responsive devices,” and the top 4 participants who got the most questions right in the shortest amount of time will join Bruce on stage to compete against each other.
Saturday, November 3 - Ballard Brewed Winter Beer Festival @ Hale's Ales Palladium
The great philosopher Nick Offerman once said “marijuana is quite possibly the finest of intoxicants.” Obviously we agree, but you’d be hard pressed to find someone at our shop who doesn’t love beer too. The Ballard Brewed Winter Beer Festival features tastings from 11 breweries including Hales Ales and Lagunitas. Best of all, proceeds from this event benefit Bellwether Housing, which is Seattle’s largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing.
Tuesday, November 6 - General Election
If you’re registered to vote in Washington state, you should have already received your ballot in the mail. Stamps are no longer required for mailing ballots, and ballot drop boxes are located all over the city, so there’s no excuse not to vote in the 2018 midterm election!

Other acts include Sandrider, Eye of Nix, and Noise-A-Tron.
Saturday, November 10 - Diwali Indian Boat Party @ The Islander Cruise Ship
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights; Celebrate in style with a 4-hour late night cruise featuring a full bar and DJs bumping bass-heavy Bollywood music. The event listing doesn’t say anything about serving delicious Indian fare, so burn some Hindu Kush and fill your belly with biryani before you show up for the 9:30pm departure. Note that there is a strict dress code of Indian traditional or western suited… but if you show up underdressed you can say, “sari, I forgot."
Saturday, November 10 - I Want It That Way @ High Dive
Our buddies in #all4doras (Seattle’s only tribute boy band) are headlining a 90s/ 2000s dance party at High Dive. Come and say high if you see me… I’ll be the out-of-place looking dude in black who’s smoking out the band.

November 10-11 - Northwest Chocolate Festival @ Smith Cove Cruise Terminal, Pier 91
Featuring exhibitors from 20 countries, this 2-day festival is devoted to making and enjoying chocolate. They’ll have workshops and seminars about pairing chocolate with coffee, wine, beer, whiskey, sex, matcha, cheese, peppers, and sake… but it’s on you to create your own “Cannabis and Chocolate Pairing” experience, if you get my drift. Pro tip: every strain of weed pairs well with every form of chocolate.
Wednesday, November 14 - Selective Exposure to Misinformation @ UW Graduate School
Professor Brendan Nyhan will review his findings that 1 in 4 Americans visited a “fake news” website between October 7 and November 14, 2016. According to his data, social media platforms like Facebook exacerbate opinions formed by this misinformation, and most fake news consumption was concentrated to the "10% of people with the most conservative online information diets.”
The other lecture in the series entitled Spotting and Refuting Bullshit is already “sold out,” and unfortunately registration for this lecture just closed as I was writing this. Oh well. Watch out for fake news, bullshit, and misinformation, y’all.
Thursday, November 15 - Weed School: Lazy Bee Gardens @ Herbn Elements
Class is in session! Our friends from Lazy Bee Gardens will be in our pot shop from 4-7pm to talk about their fresh crop of their delicious, sungrown, Clean Green Certified buds and dabs 🐝 All their products will be 15% off while they’re here!

Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker is getting a remix! Featuring rapper Kurtis Blow, a DJ, and an electric violinist, this fresh take on The Nutcracker is set in 1980’s Brooklyn. Don’t sleep on booking your tickets, as this event sold out the last 3 years.
Monday, November 19 - Weed School: Spot @ Herbn Elements
Class is in session! The crew from Botanica Seattle (better known as Spot edibles) will be in our dispensary to talk to customers about their newly re-launched, Clean Green Certified chocolates and fruit chews. Stock up before Thanksgiving because all their products will be 15% off while they're here!
Tuesday, November 20 - Behemoth @ The Showbox
One of the most influential European metal bands of the last decade, Behemoth is a raucous act from Poland who draws upon ancient history, occult lore, and world music to craft their complex brand of death metal that manages to be cacophonous and melodic at the same time. Plus their costumes are rad, and they put on one hell of a show.
Thursday, November 22 - Thanksgiving
If you’re looking for an herbal aperitif or digestif to help with your Turkey Day appetite, come and see us by November 21st because we’ll be closed all day on Thanksgiving.

November 26-27 - Neil deGrasse Tyson @ Paramount Theatre
If you've ever felt frustrated explaining basic scientific principles to willfully ignorant people who take pride in being contrarian, then don’t miss celebrity astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson as he gives two different science lectures over two nights: one is entitled “Adventures in Science Literacy,” and the other is called “The Cosmic Perspective.”
Friday, November 30 - Craft Weed: Family Farming and the Future of the Marijuana Industry @ Elliot Bay Book Company
Ryan Stoa—the law professor, not the hockey player— will talk about his new book, and his belief that small, family-owned “craft weed” farms should be the driving force of the legalized cannabis industry. Stoa is expected to be joined by Bruce Barcott, author of Weed the People.
